Since I wrote down about Broadband Wireless Access in Indonesia last year, several emails have been received asking about the BWA tender in Indonesia.  Many foreign readers have difficulties when they have to read BWA White Paper as it is written in Indonesian. To help those people I tried to summarized several ideas in that paper and write it down here. It will be posted in several articles. Hopefully this will be useful.

There will be 15 regions in BWA tender as showed on the map below. This information is an updated one, as previously I wrote only 14 regions.

BWA Regions

1. Region I : North part of Sumatera consists of :
a. Nangroe Aceh Darussalam
b. North Sumatera

2. Region II : Central part of Sumatera
a. West Sumatera
b. Riau
c. Riau Island
d. Jambi

3. Region III: South path of Sumatera
a. Bengkulu
b. Lampung
c. South Sumatera
d. Bangka Belitung

4. Region IV : Banten and Jabotabek
a. Banten
b. Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi

5. Region V:  West part of Java
a. West Java except  Bogor, Depok and Bekasi

6. Region VI: Central Java
a. Central Java
b. DI Yogyakarta

7. Region VII: East  Java:
a. East Java

8. Region VIII: Bali and Nusa Tenggara
a. Bali
b. West Nusa Tenggara
c. East Nusa Tenggara

9. Region IX: Papua
a. Papua
b. West Papua

10. Region X: Maluku and North Maluku
a. Maluku
b. North Maluku

11. Region XI : South path of Sulawesi

a. South Sulawesi
b. West Sulawesi
c. South East Sulawesi

12. Region XII: North part of Sulawesi
a. North Sulawesi
b. Gorontalo
c. Central Sulawesi

13. Region  XIII: West part of Kalimantan
a. West Kalimantan
b. Central Kalimantan

14. Region XIV: East part of Kalimantan
a. East Kalimantan

15. Region XV: Riau Island
a. Riau Island

Region XV is created on purpose to make easier coordination in border area with Malaysia and Singapore.

Each region represents one license. However, there will be a nationwide license as well.
