New BRTI Committee Members Announced

After more than two months (nov 2008), finally the new BRTI committee members from public representative were announced. The selection process acctually started on October 2008, but only few experts were interested. Then, the registration was extended up to Nov 11th 2008 where the participants reached 88 people. This long waited information finally received by telecommunication stake holder in Indonesia. The minister of communication and information technology announced the 5 elected public representative for BRTI committee members. They are: Danrivanto Budhyanto, Heru Sutadi, Iwan Krisnadi, Nonot Harsono, and Ridwan Effendi. (more…)

Waiting for BRTI Committee Members Announcement

As written in The interest to become BRTI Committee members is very low, Department of Communication and Information Technology has been invited experts to joint the Indonesian Telecommunication Regulatory Body members. On the first stage, only few people are interested. When the admission extended on Nov 11th 2008, 88 participants are registered.

More than two months after that, no information has been announced .  People are waiting for the selection result. Who are the committee members now? What happen with the selection? Public are waiting for the information. If you visit www.brti.or.id, the committees member are still the same.

For your information, the BRTI committee’s term of service has ended in October last year.  So, according to the rule, BRTI currently has no committee’s members except the chairman (Mr. Basuki Yusuf Iskandar) and the government  representative (Prof Alkaff). Hence, we can see no important decision has been made during last three months.

The  announcement of new BRTI committees member will help many stake holder in Indonesian telecommunication. We hope it will be announced soon.

BRTI Awards 2008

Every year BRTI (Indonesian Telecommunication Regulatory Body) gives appreciation to the operators and other parties who have important roles in the development of telecommunication in Indonesia. On this year event which conducted in Borobudur Hotel Jakarta last night,  Bakrie Telecom and Indosat succeeded in snatching the Best Achievement Award for fixed and cellular operators respectively.

Below are the complete result:

§ Best Achievement Award for fixed operator: Bakrie Telecom, runner up: Telkom.

§ Best Achievement Award for Cellular Operator: Indosat, runner up: XL.

§ Best Printed Media : Bisnis Indonesia daily

§ Best Radio and Television: Metro TV

§ Best Online Media: detik.com

§ Lifetime Achievement: Arnold P. Djiwatampu

§ Special Rewrd: ex Director General of DG Postel Djamhari Sirat and ex BRTI members: Suryadi Azis and Soetjipto.

In deciding the winner, BRTI is helped by Frontier Research group.  The methodology for best achievement is by combining two main factors, namely the customer perspectives and the operational performances. The customer perspectives consist of customer satisfactory index and brand popularity. This part weights 55% of total mark.  While the operational performance weights only 45% which consist of network performance and service performance.
