ICON+ Won the Last USO Packets

PT. Indonesia Comnets Plus (ICON+), a national electric company (PLN) subsidiary has succeeded in winning the two remaining USO packets, namely packet no 4 and no 5. The packets no 4 consists of North Sulawesi , Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, West Sulawesi, South Sulawesi, South East Sulawesi, Maluku and North Maluku. While the packet 5 consists of Papua and  West Irian Jaya.

In packet 4, ICON+ was competing with Indonusa System Integrator Prima, while in packet 5 ICON+ is only participant. ICON+ won the contract for IDR 274b (USD 270m) and IDR 455b (USD 450m) for packet 4 and packet 5 respectively.

When the last 2 packets have been assigned, it means all USO packets have been tendered out. Below are the winners of the other 5 USO packets which all are won by Telkomsel.

Paket 1 consists of Aceh, North Sumatera and West Sumatera in the area of Sumatera. Winner: Telkomsel, price: IDR 553b.

The packet-2 consists of Jambi, Riau mainland , Riau islands , Bangka Belitung Islands , Bengkulu , South Sumatera, and Lampung . Winner: Telkomsel, price: IDR 333b

Packet 3: Kalimantan area, consists of West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. Winner: Telkomsel, price: IDR 365b

Packet 6 consist of Bali, Nusa Tenggara Barat and Nusa Tenggara Timur. Winner: Telkomsel, price: IDR 209b.

Packet-7 consists of Banten, West Java, Central Java, DIY and East Java. Winner: Telkomsel, price: IDR 201b.

Telkomsel Won Another $100m Project

The Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information Technology M. Nuh today has appointed Telkomsel as the winner of USO (Universal Service Obligation) for 3 packets, packet no 1, packet 3 and packet 6. The packets values are $50, $30m and $20m respectively, so the total is around $100m.

Unlike for the packet-2 and packet-7 last week, on packet 1, 3 and 6, Telkomsel is the only participant. When Telkomsel fulfills all the administration requirement, they become the winner.

As a winner, Telkomsel shall provide telecommunication and information access services for villages in these 3 regions. Paket 1 consists of Aceh, North Sumatera and West Sumatera in the area of Sumatera. Packet 3 is Kalimantan area, namely West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan Timur and South Kalimantan (For your information, North Kalimantan is Malaysian Teritorry). Meanwhile packet 6 consist of Bali, Nusa Tenggara Barat and Nusa Tenggara Timur.

Now, we are waiting for packet 4 and packet 5. Will Telkomsel sweep it out? Be patient as the winner will be announced soon. ?

Telkomsel Won $50m Project

Today, Telkomsel the biggest GSM and 3G operator in Indonesia has been appointed by Ministry of Information and communication as the winner of USO (Universal Service Obligation) for 2 packets, packet no 2 and packet no 7. The packet-2 value is around $30m, while the packet-7 is only around $20m, so the total value for both packets is around $50m.

As a winner, Telkomsel shall provide telecommunication and information access services for villages in both regions. The packet-2 consists of Jambi ( 751 villages ), Riau mainland (701 villages), Riau islands ( 90 villages), Bangka Belitung Islands (141 villages), Bengkulu (969 villages), South Sumatera (1752 villages), Lampung (793 villages). Meanwhile, the packet-7 consists of Banten (530 villages), Jawa Barat (1038 villages), Central Java (1551 villages), DIY (19 villages), East Java(1436 villages).

Winning this tender will be beneficial for Telkomsel as it supports Telkomsel internal program to cover all villages in Indonesia. Congratulation to Telkomsel.

6 Operators compete for USO

Six out of ten Indonesian Telecommunication Operators pass the qualification for providing telecommunication facilities to the villages (universal service obligation/USO). This process actually is a re-tender as the previous tender (won by PT Aces) was cancelled by DG Postel.

The USO project will provide the communication facilities for 31.824 villages in 32 provinces from all over Indonesia. This project is divided into 7 packets and each participant can win all the packets. Currently, not all packets are ready to be tendered, because according to Government rules, the number of participants who pass the qualification should be at least 5 .
